IPL helps SA

The IPL extravaganza has helped the South African economy!. Yeah, in this time of year the tourism and hotels in SA is bound to be at all time low. That too with recession taking its toll, it was expected to be going through a really bad time. But thanks to IPL, now the SA economy is booming. All the VIP suites in major hotels have been booked for the whole one and half months. The tourism has also seen an uprise with people pouring in to get a glimpse at IPL and tour the country.

Mostly all the tickets for the matches have been purchased. And the advertisements and other merchandises are proving to be the source of huge amount of money. So its a blessing in disguise for the african nation!.

Catches win matches

The Chennai super kings started off well. Hayden and Dhoni were guiding their team towards a good score.It was then that Dhoni was caught and bold by Wverve. It was an awesome catch.The Royal challengers came back into the game.They held on to all the catches and fielded superbly.The Chennai team was out for 130 runs.The challengers started well then lost some wickets but Ross taylor guided them to victory.The Chennai teams fielding was not that of superior standards.It is true that catches win matches.

Big encounter

It will be a big encounter today at the Indian premier league. The Chennai super kings led by M.S.Dhoni are up against the Kumble led royal challengers Bangalore. The Chennai team is on a winning streak of 5 matches on a row .The world cup winning captain M.S Dhoni’s team is expected o win this match. But in cricket nothing can be decided until the last ball is bowled. This statement is very much true in the world of T20 cricket.Also the Chennai team has lost all the matches that it has played at Durban.It will be a big encounter and definitely a treat to watch.

IPL!!!

The IPL has just begun in South Africa and it is already creating excellent waves in today’s world. The summer has begun in India and all are anxiously watching TV to watch their favorite team to win. It an excellent pass time and it is nice to see the whole nation being united. IPL is also famous in other countries and it is a great platform before the world cup. This time IPL has arrived with a bang and it will be a bigger hit than last year.

Recent developments in IPL

As we have already discussed the security issues in the previous posts in blog, the government of India has decided to shift the place for IPL matches. The new destination for this rich event is likely to be England or South Africa. These developments have received rave reviews from the cricket lovers all over the world. However, the security being the main reason for this terror stricken world, this move is a positive move as the government of India will not be able to provide enough forces to the event as it is busy with the elections.

IPL and Security

Indian Premiere league is scheduled to start by April 10. The inauguration function is held in the Mumbai city of India. With increase in the expectation of this event, there is also more concerns for security. After the 26/11 attacks there is more need for security in India. All the foreign players want more security than before for their safety trip to India. Another major concern is that, the elections are approaching in India. So the Para-military forces are also needed for the election security. Hence the present government is also finding the supply of security forces to this event difficult. So the home ministry asked the IPL officials to re schedule the dates. The IPL officials too are working hard for the event to proceed as scheduled. After the recent terror attacks and the recession affecting all parts of the world, this would definitely affect the event and the crowd coming to watch the cricket match. The recent attacks on Sri Lankan cricket team will also raise major concerns for the security of players. Even if proper security is provided to the players, the fear factor is always there. Overall it’s a decision of the individual players to come at their own risk and play for money.

The Indian premier league was inaugurated in the year 2008. The board of cricket council for India launched this ipl as a cricket extravaganza, which became a superb hit in 2008. It rolled in more number of spectators to the stadiums, creating record collections. This ipl was introduced after the t20 format was a great hit in the cricket. With India winning the world cup in the year 2007 caused this 20-20 fever in this most populated country. Totally eight teams were introduced in this league. They include Delhi daredevils, rajastan royals, Deccan chargers, Mumbai Indians, Chennai super kings, kolkatha knightriders, Bangalore royal challengers, kings xi Punjab. Each team was bought by multi millionaires. They saw more business in the ipl, because of the craze for that sport. The great ipl auction held last year, where all the top players were sold out to each team, with record price going to mahendra Singh dhoni. The bid for top players was nice to watch and the people encouraged and cheered for their team mates. This culture of players from different nations playing in same team was good to see. This year too ipl will be a good booster for people and it will provide more entertainment to the cricket world.
