WHO IS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE HISTORY OF CRICKET?

Cricket is a sport which has produced many legends. With more than a century, the cricket is still prevailing and the entertainment provided by it is growing day by day. In early days sir Donald Bradman dominated the cricket with his excellent batting style and had an average of 99 at the end of his career. Then the cricket was dominated by the West Indians. sir Gary sobers , sir Vivian Richards, Clive Lloyd all played their part in winning two world cups for their nation .the Indian team also had great stars like Sunil gavaskar , kapil dev , mohinder amaranth who helped India to win the next world cup. The other test batsmen who proved their identity include brain Lara , Alan border , sachin tendulkar , Ricky ponting, Steve Waugh, etc. Shane Warne, Courtney Walsh, anil kumble, muttiah muralitharan all had scalped more than 500 wickets and is considered legends in this game. However Brian Lara who has scored more than 12000 runs in test cricket is believed to be a genius .brad man has the highest average in this sport. According to me sachin tendulkar who has the highest runs in a both test and limited form of cricket is really the best player in this game.

CRICKET – THE EMERGING BUSINESS FIELD

Cricket is the national sport for many countries. However with increase in the attention towards the sport, the cricket is making good business like other sports like football. In earlier days of test cricket, the game had very few visitors. Only the people who had more patience liked to watch the game in stadiums while others preferred to stay home. However after the introduction of limited overs cricket, the entertainment provided by the sport increased. Many channels were dedicated to cricket. After this, game started to make business like other sports. The success of limited overs cricket led to the introduction of 20-20 cricket. in this format the entire match gets over within four hours. This format is liked more because of more entertainment and the shorter format. This increased the business of cricket in and money came spinning to the organizers. The grand success of IPL is an example of this game format. The various business people are ready to give millions to the players to play in their team.Hence this change in the formats has proved beneficial for the business of cricket and to the sponsors.

Gentlemans Game

Cricket that game of gentlemen that was born in the British Isles but is now cared for and patronized in the sub-continent. A game that has given the sporting world some its greatest moments, magical acts that push the boundaries of human possibility further, be it the almost too perfect cricketing life of Sir Donald Bradman or the heroics of men whose courage has spurred on their nations. The perfect platform for the game has for long been tests and we have come a long way in it from the days of the timeless test to this day when the International Cricket Council in its infinite wisdom proposes four day tests. The game has created several shorter versions that have created icons of their own making Sachin Tendulkar who in tests might have stiff competition from the past and the present but in one day international cricket is without doubt the greatest batsman of all time. With Twenty20 the game has found itself a new version that can be marketed with ease to the fast food generation of today. But to all those who truly watch the game those who are the truest followers, tests are and will always remain the truest test of talent and be the greatest evaluator of a cricketing mind. To shorten it by chopping off a day is to tinker with a system that is functioning just as well in the shape that it currently is. Let not the lure of quick money kill the golden goose.

Bagladesh no more minnows in reality!

Bangladesh won their first ever away test in St Vincent West Indies and only their second ever test win in over 60 test matches by 95 runs as commendable and encouraging as the victory is to the cricket crazy nation this match Test No. 1923 will be better remembered for the debacle that it was which had almost no recognizable names in the West Indian squad. The contract row that has been going on with the Caribbean cricketing fraternity for too long now has resulted in the WICB making a mockery of the game itself. Why the ICC that has taken upon itself to introduce T20 test matches and in the height of officiousness insisting on experimenting with hair brained schemes that include chopping off the last day of tests does nothing to step in and solve the issue that has now just about killed the game in the Caribbean. Its in the interest of the game and its future in the Caribbean that the contract issue be resolved at the earliest, else more farces like the one witnessed in the past week shall continue to take place and destroy one of the greatest bastions of cricketing excellence that created countless greats of the game and shall consign it to the dusty books of history.

It's all happening in cricket...

The roar has died down, news channels have finally realised that there are other things that merit their attention, people even dared to exercise their democratic right and duty when the spectacle held court. Lalit Modi showed the Proteas his “benevolence” in classic political style and for once it was the bolllwood stars that were jumping and cheering even a playboy billionaire paid attention. Such was the pull of the Indian Premier League that the month during which it was telecast even the family dramas that pollute sorry populate the airways took a back seat. With Mr. Modi hinting at a second IPL within the year and the ICC keen on creating an American league around the same lines expect to be pelted with lots of dancing beautiful women, loud music screaming commentators, film stars beverage barons and yes a bit of cricket on the sidelines.

AUSTRALIAN CRICKET

Australian cricket has gone through a number of leaps and laps in the past two to three decades or so. The Australian cricket’s development is considered as the benchmarking for the overall development of the cricket of our age. The main reason for the massive development of the cricket in Australia is due to various reasons like the introduction of new technologies and the advent of the talented coaches in all forms of the game. For example, it is hard for all the teams to give batting practice for their bowlers. In Australia, they have introduced the bowling machines well before the introduction of the machines in other countries happened. In addition, the strategically attempts for a cricket match is first carried out by the Australians only. In this technique, they will analyze the batting and bowling performances of each players of the opposite team and they will face the game accordingly. It is widely accepted fact that the game plan of the Australians are fore most trivial than the game plans of all the teams. Consistent victories and the immense confidence on their talents is also one of the main reasons for their mind-blowing performance in the past two to three decades.

FOOTBALL vs. CRICKET

The most popular sports of our time are the cricket and the football. Eleven players each play both of these games. Both these games have many common things including the number of players and the number of teams played at a time. Each of the game has been played in a large playground. Both the games have attracted millions of fans ranging from small children to old aged. In the business perspective also, both the teams have emerged as the best competitors in the marketing and the advertising agencies. The number of sponsors coming for the cricket and the footballs are overtaking the number of sponsors for the other sorts of games like the tennis, volleyball and basketball. Beyond the perspective of a sport, both these games emerged as some form of religion in this world. The football players and the cricket players have been considered as some form of supernatural heroes. However, one should be aware of the fact that these fame and respect will be sabotaged once the player or the team does not perform well consistently. Thus, these types of player worships should be avoided in both the football and the cricket for the well good of the team and the players image. Also viewers should take the games into a sportive one and refrain from indulging in any sorts of indecent activities.

FIRST CLASS CRICKET

In all the cricket-playing countries, the selection of the players to the national squad is based on the performance of the players in the interim level of cricket. This level of cricket ids measured by the means of the first class campaigns and other forms of inter state and intra state competitions. In order to hold a healthy environment for the game of cricket, it is necessary to enhance the opportunities available to a common cricketer in his early days. Thus, first class cricket plays a major role in the improvement of every nation’s cricket future. It is the responsibility of the government and the ministry of the sports and games to provide the necessary incentives to keep such forms of the game. Great cricketers of our modern era were once emerged from the same first class cricket. In addition, it is important that a player who has entered the international career should participate in the first class forms of cricket whenever he gets a chance. He should not ne let down by his celebrity status or ego. This type of acts has the power to create a wealthy environment for the growth of the cricket. Remember, FIRST CLASS CRICKET IS THE CRADLE FOR THE INTERNATIONAL CRICKET.

VARIOUS FORMS OF CRICKET

Cricket is a game played by two teams each having eleven players on their side. It is played in different forms throughout the globe. The various forms of the cricket are test cricket, one-day international cricket and twenty-twenty cricket. Test cricket is the oldest and the most primitive form of the game and is successful in its survival even after a century it has been invented. It includes a hectic 5-day game or a 6-day game in the past. Test cricket is all about surviving without getting out and in the mean time to score some runs. ODI is the modern form of cricket, which includes a play of 50 overs for each side. The first ODI had been played in the starting of the 70s. However, it overtook the fame held by the test cricket in a very short span of time and conquered the number one spot. It is because of its urgency nature. The disadvantages include that it is not a benchmark to estimate the performance or talent of a player based on such a short form of cricket. T20 or twenty-twenty is the latest addition to this list and has acquired enough response from the cricket fans already in the cricket world.
